Kindergarten News
January 31- February 7
We will be finished with Mid – Term Kindergarten Assessment this week!!! Remember lots of sleep and a healthy breakfast is the easiest things a mom and dad can do to help! But also, brush up on Letter Names, Writing both upper case and lower case letters, and practice sounds. For numbers, recognize and write 0-20! Work on 10 sight words and Rhyming words!! Also, LAST NAMES!!! Everyone is doing really well! J

· January Book orders will be a little late!!

· THIS Thursday, February 2nd will be our annual Curriculum Open House from 6-7!! Please take a minute to come in and see what we are working on in class. Mark your calendars. See you there!!!
· We are required to let parents know that open enrollment forms are available to parents in the office. They are due by the 3rd Friday in February for those that would like.

HOMEWORK
I have attached the letter writing for homework this week. And please remember the SIGHT WORDS list that was sent home before Christmas!! Words to learn are: the, a, to, it, of, and, in, is, I, and you. Please help your child write the words that rhyme!!!!

Community Council Mid-Year Report
2011-2012 School Year
We would like to express our appreciation to those who have participated in our Community Council this year. Following the selection process governed by Utah State law, the following members will make up the Community Council during the 2011-2012 school year: Steve Burton, Nathan Jenkins, Kathleen Mosdell, LeShell Murray, John Eye (Chair), Lisa Allen (Vice Chair), Maren Mellor, and Paula Stapley.
During the course of the school year, the Community Council has accomplished the following:
Ø Appointed new council members where election positions were not filled.
Ø Trained on community council responsibilities.
Ø Approved a safe routing plan for students.
Ø Approved the Parent Teacher Compact.
Ø Discussed Trust Lands funding for the upcoming year, and how it is being used this year.
This year’s Trust Lands funding is being used for:
Ø Leveled library books
Ø Library books
Ø Lego Education kits
Ø Take Home Library TA
Ø Classroom Ipads
Ø AR Computer program
Ø Math manipulatives
