Kindergarten News

       December 17 – January 6

         We are almost to the Christmas Break and your children are excited, what a fun time of the year.  I love the excitement of your children, THANKS for sharing them with me.  Please have a fun and safe HOLIDAY!!  We will see you next year!!! 

         Tomorrow we will be having an READ-A-THON and Pajama Party!!  PLEASE wear your pj’s to school and we will read and read and read!!  If you would like to bring a pillow OR a blanket that would be fun!!!

Things to Know.....

         *    TOMORROW is EARLY- OUT, class time  8:55 to 10:55!!!

·       On Thursday, we are going to make  Gingerbread Houses!!

  Would you please send a SMALL personal sized

bag of candy to decorate our houses with!!  

  (Red Hots. M&M’s. Gun Drops, Skittles etc...)

*   We will not be having CENTERS   on  THURSDAY or FRIDAY   this week!! Please have a day off and we will be right back to work as usual on January 6th!!  I have a few mothers who have had a change in schedules, if you are willing or can change days

                                             PLEASE let me know!!!!

*     November Skills Sheet, Golden Sneaker and the Reading Record are

                          now PAST DUE!!!! Record your child’s progress, sign and return.
 

*          Christmas Holiday

   Will start  December  21st  NO SCHOOL

              See you back on  Monday, January 6th!

HOMEWORK

             Homework over the Christmas Holiday is to   READ!   READ!!   READ!!!   Remember to mark your Reading Record, all of your calendars will be due when we come back!  Also, PRACTICE THOSES SIGHT WORDS!!  We need to know 12 for the Kindergarten Assessment in January!!

We will be making a special Christmas present for you!!  You will LOVE it!! To help me

with the cost of the present would you please help your child earn $1.50 to donate for the gift.  Please have them do extra chores around the house, we will be talking about earning money and buying presents for our family!!  If you could please send  it no later than Friday, December 6th that would be helpful!!!         THANKS for your help!!!

HOMEWORK

  This weeks homework is in your child’s homework folder.  Please practice writing the letter “S” and the letter “J” AGAIN!!  Last week I noticed that almost all of the students wrote the letter “J”  WRONG!!  Lowercase “J”  starts at the middle and hangs below the line. Please make sure that your child is writing “J” correctly!! 

You should also be working on SIGHT WORDS!  Most students are working on list #2 and list #3, THAT IS GREAT!!  If your child is still working on list #1, lets pick up the pace and get it passed off!!  List #1 words are….the, a, to, it, of, and, in ,is, I and you.
